No one is talking about the run. We are talking about the contact with the 1st baseman based off the run.

You said the rule is designed to not allow anyone to run inside the line and that simply is not correct.

If you want to talk about the contact it occurred after the ball had already been thrown down the RF line and our first baseman was sitting on the bag, not during his attempt to make a play on it.

I’ve always thought that was an automatic call but I think officials used their discretion because the ball was thrown so poorly . If the ball had been better thrown we probably get the call. We’ve got to flush that game and try and move on.
