The rule is designed to prevent anyone from being inside the foul line. I’m sorry you don’t understand the rule but the runner should be starting his run to the right not the left. Omaha doesn’t give a shite about it. They call this at least 8 times a tournament

The rule is designed to prevent interference, which wasn’t the case on that play. You can link some shitty Google AI breakdown all you want but any good ump isn’t calling interference unless the runner is actually obstructing or attempting to obstruct the throwing lane

ETA: this is how the rule is actually written in the NCAA rulebook.

NCAA 2-51 Interference

Interference SECTION 51.

The act of an offensive player, umpire or nongame person who interferes with; physically or verbally hinders; confuses; or impedes any fielder attempting to make a play

Nowhere does it say that you can’t run inside the line. Congrats on your first foray with Google AI answers giving you completely bad info and you falling for it with no further research

You are correct and what is even more frustrating is that this is a correctable call. The play is a walk off either way it is called. Interference ends the inning and LSU wins. That call could be made today because the call has a definitive end.

Dont hold your breath though... I have never seen a call overuled a day later and changed the outcome of the game...
