I predict that they merge with the Mountain West. I also predict that Cal-Berkeley and Stanford only stay on the ACC for a short time before they also merge with the Mountain West. The Mountain West will then become a Power 5 conference.

I think that’s the most likely scenario. The second most likely possibility is that Oregon State and Washington State eventually join the Big 12. Perhaps Boise State will get into the Big 12 as well in that scenario.

They should form a new conference (The New WAC) and raid the Mountain West

Maybe add a few new schools from other conferences as well

Nevermind I thought that they could have still added BYU and maybe Utah.

I doubt that. That conference plus Stanford, cal, osu, and wsu is not p5

Those schools honestly got paid handsomely with the Pac12s equal revenue sharing without bringing much to the table. They're not victims.... It could be argued they stole... Well USC and UCLA basically argued against the equal shares for years, which is why they bolted.

Oregon State is (University-wise) barely above Boise State....and Boise State was a JUCO in the 70s.

Wazzu is in Pullman. Students drive to Moscow Idaho (pop. 25k) to have entertainment. They got lucky being in the PAC....and were a major reason for its demise...Schools got tired of subsidizing them.

Yeah that’s why the PAC folded

Ever been to Corvallis?

It makes Mayberry look like Dallas.

Mike Riley would ride a bicycle to work.

While all the revenue was coming from USC but they only got equal shares with schools who drew no eyeballs.

They should ignore geography. Oregon State and Southern Cal are good cultural fits for the East division.

Don’t they still have the rights to Pac?

That conference already looks like a refugee camp with the shorthorns and sooners bugging out. In a few years, it won't matter about any conference that isn't SEC/B1G approved.

My first thought is that it would be a “reverse merger” where essentially the PAC name is kept but the Mountain West essentially adds OSU and Wazzou.

But I also think there is at least one more seismic event coming involving Clemson
and Florida State leaving the ACC, that may precipitate more movement in that league as well as the BIG 12. I obviously don’t see Standford and Cal as long term fits in the ACC….unless it adds some more west coast teams…

Don’t blame Nebraska. They were simply the spark that set off the powder keg. Someone else would have done it if they hadn’t done it.

It’s kind of like the political landscape of Europe before World War 1. If Gavrilo Princip hadn’t set it off, someone else would have shortly after.

Idk why you’re doubling down on this stupid take. I don’t even like Corvallis too. Every conference has universities in the middle of bumfrick nowhere. Do you think Baton Rouge is a destination town?

The pac folded because of arrogance. They thought college football had to catch up to them in 2012 when in reality PAC was falling behind. Then they doubled down by making games impossible to watch.

Also how mad are you the B1G let Oregon in after they told your pussy Spoiled children school they wouldn’t? We still own LA.

I can’t wrap my head around there being any scenario other than those two joining the Mountain West.

Corvallis and OSU’s campus are awesome though. Their football facilities are nice, decent donor base. If Kansas goes to the Big 10 I hope the Big 12 takes the beavs

No and no.

Cal and Stanford want big names and neither of them will make the difference between a conference being Group Of Five and Power Five in their current state.

Stanford could have pulled it off a few years ago but Cal is fricking arse-water these days in most sports of note.

Cal and Stanford are more likely to drop football all together than join Oregon State and Wazzu again. Corvallis is a nice college town, nothing special about it.
