There are 3 years missing

I’ll fill them in:

2020: Covid
2021: CWS
2022: postseason

Boat, for a guy who’s been in baseball threads for a long time. Really expected a higher quality post. If you think he’s became relaxed because he won a natty then you follow less than i thought.

A trend based on one data point. Engineering school is tough.

It’s par for the course. We should be good in 2026.

He has this team so wound up tight at the moment that mistakes keep happening. This is what happens to to a solid team that is being over coached.

So now he’s “over coaching”? This board keeps telling me he doesn’t give a shite and is coasting.

Weird.

I think that’s exactly part of the issue. I think he kicked back a little this year. Don’t mean he can’t learn from it, but I think that is partly to blame.

Or it’s the trend of championship teams lately. It isn’t just Ole Miss and Miss state. Right before Covid I believe Oregon St did it as well. So like 4 of the last 5 or 6 champions failed to make the postseason the following season. I am not including the Covid season.

I am not looking this up, so I may be off a year or so.

Why did you skip 2021? He made the CWS and I believe finished first in the PAC? Why short him like that? Was one of his best seasons coaching.

So outside of Covid year bs he has made the CWS 3 times within the past 7-8 seasons.

So many of these same people trashed Jay Johnson last season. I truly don’t get it, but it’s sickening.

And they try to discredit him because he had two superstars. It’s utterly ridiculous. Also, completely ignore how great he did in his first season in the SEC without a true SEC caliber starting pitcher. In fact his first season at LSU is far more impressive than his championship season IMO. I am not looking it up but I think he won like 17 SEC games.

It’s a down season after one of the greatest seasons ever and people just can’t deal with it. I get being upset if it happened next season, but he is going to get a pass from me this season. He has a long history of being an excellent coach.

Who else has been to Omaha 3 times in the past 8 years? Maybe 5 others?
