Jay Johnson will be fine. This was a hangover year with a team that didn’t have the depth to sustain that level of success. If JJ keeps the majority of this squad intact and out of the portal, LSU baseball will be much better next year. The sky isn’t falling.

His defenses are consistently bad
His pitching is always mid at best unless he has a transcendent talent
But what’s the most disappointing are offense and culture. The construction of this offense is extremely flawed. Recruiting and development.
His culture is soft minded which is the worst thing you can say about a team in sports.
Saban is the GOAT because complacency wasn’t in his culture, he kept his teams hungry. This team tasted the titty nectar last year and came back soft AF this season

Quick question for all the diehard baseball guys? So if Lsu has about the same kind of year next year, will the Jay believers/supporters still consider him elite? Or will the excuses still be the same? From his resume I believe he is a good coach, but not elite at all. If he misses getting to a regional next year, are yall gonna still think he's elite?

White will be benched in the majors if he continues to play the way he does. Hitting solo home runs and hitting into double plays with men in scoring positions. Remember everybody in the majors have talent, can hit under pressure and have baseball IQ. White is having fun right now but it is not a picnic in the majors. My guess he will be gone after 4 years in minors if he doesn't take this game serious. That missed bag at 3rd shows what I'm talking about and the stomped on the bag at 3rd after the solo HR proves my point

Exactly! He’s very inconsistent. He’s been to Omaha a lot. It’s the season he didn’t make the tournament at all that are concerning.

PM also straight up admitted to taking a year off after the title and it set us back one more. Also transfers existed back then just not as common.

Baseball is what it is. D1 preseason poll has Florida, LSU, TCU and Vanderbilt in the top 6. None are in the current top 25.
