That's last year. I'm talking about the ones for this season.

As I pointed out in the other thread. What about Florida? They were in the championship game and a preseason top 3 team this year. If we didn’t blow that one game with them I believe they are behind us in the standings. They actually have a far worse overall record than we do. And he is a top 5 coach over the past decade. Should he be on the hot seat? No. Neither should Jay.

Point is a down season can happen to anyone off a championship-like season. Save the concern for if it happens again.

He didn't win the CWS at Arizona.

What year did he win the CWS at Arizona? I'll wait.

With Jay Johnson. I didn’t even include 1st round pick Jacob Berry.

Trying to dismiss JJ’s work in the transfer portal is a bad look.

Ah. You think the transfer portal is like the Golden Corral you waddle up to every Sunday. Just pick and chose what you want.

Got it.

He is not the guy. Many will disagree, and that's cool, but he isn't the guy. This team can be better. Alot better. He is soft and not a strong leader and his team is showing it.

So you're of the opinion that last year was an outlier and we'll never sniff that success again under Jay.
I couldn't have said it better

1 natty gets you a powerball retirement with zero accountability.

He's a great coach.

This gets thrown around a lot, and he got us some good talent in 23 especially skeens, etc. But, a lot of coaches would look good having almost an auto win with Skeens, and a very good Saturday pitcher. Talent is way down this year, and unless something changes (which I'm sure we will get some players) looking worse next year. Seems we are building out of the portal instead of within. He may turn out to be a great coach, but a lot of coaches have had brief success and then level out.

You don't feel like we are headed in the wrong direction as a program? Sure, there is nowhere to go after winning it all, but I didn't expect to fall off the cliff, with next year looking even worse. He deserves the benefit of the doubt, for sure, but I've seen this show before.

My only concern with CJJ is his team (at least this year) plays tight. They don’t just play baseball and execute. They seem to be on edge and as a result don’t execute to the level of what their talent would indicate.

Kling didn’t progress, Milazzo got worse defensively, Braswell either got worse or was a misjudge. Pearson seemed to get worse. Neal got worse defensively . On the other hand Jones got better, white improved defensively, Milam had a rookie slump then rebounded nicely.

He spoke of his catchers glowingly. Either they all regressed or he didn’t judge correctly. He spoke of pitching glowingly but again a misjudge or they got worse.

To me and others can have a different opinion, there is no put the players in position and let them play mentality. Everything is mechanical and tight.

Bunting is an example. Hard to understand why almost none can execute a bunt.

I think he is smart dedicated and strategic coach. But at some point they have to play and have fun. Even when they win they don’t seem to have fun.

Loer has been a bust. So has Bingham. Thatcher Hurd coming back was supposed to be a weekend starter and he’s struggled. Crazy year. Curse of the natty.

How do these guys just happen to all fall off once they get to LSU bc it’s not just the ones mentioned above? Is it the step up in competition or is development an issue?

Yea I mean it’s one thing to have a down year after a natty but they are literally the last team in just to make the damn SEC tourney. The 12th best team in the SEC when they were projected to win the West. That’s absolutely inexcusable
