Louisiana is up there with the worst for quality. I would assume it's harder to maintain quality golf courses on muck and clay soils in a river delta.

Outside of the Dakotas, wyoming or Alaska, I'd have a hard time thinking of a state that doesn't have courses better than Squire or CCL. The depth in LA is also shite.

Mississippi seems to be doing a fairly solid job

You guys keep mentioning the Dakotas without realizing every town with a population over a couple thousand in the eastern half of the state has a local golf course. Golf is plentiful in Sioux Falls and there are some beautiful courses set in the Black Hills on the western side of the state.
