Trump & plans for the Mexican drug cartels

Night Stalkers would be the worst unit to send in. They have no ground game.
Something like SMU or the Unit on the other hand could slide in and out of Mexico pretty easily.

You wont need a ground game for taking out cartel leaders. You hit them in their compounds at midnight like bin laden. These drug lords are known to live in remote area compounds w/ less collateral damage and tip offs.

What could possibly happen if we declare war on the cartels???
Apparently nothing on our soil in this bizarre fantasyland. We certainly wouldn't suffer another Black Hawk Down either.
People need to understand that the cartels aren't going anywhere and we're to blame for it because this country is full of drug addicts. The War on Drugs will always be a failure because of that. People like to get high. Just like they like their alcohol.

We've had this thread once or twice. jjdoc was cheering on the idea of going to war with the cartels because Trump proposed it. Most everyone else said it was insane.

There will always be issues and unknowns with any attack. That's why you send the best to minimize the risk. This is not about cocaine and weed, this is more about destroying fentanyl which is thousands of times more deadly.

Well any ground unit would need transport and that is where the 160th would come in. Unless it is a built up area no need for the Unit. Just simple ODA or Raider teams to call in drone strikes. Minimize your footprint while bringing in the pain.

The only ground game you need is total destruction of their crops and labs. All assets are seized and distributed equally among the nations involved in the destrution of the Cartel entities.
Offer huge bounties, for the Cartel leaders that are captured or killed, to any person, entity, or government responsible for such.

If I was asked my thoughts would be to deputize about 50,000 citizens to protect the border and mountain from any incursion with full immunity and an extra $1000 per body delivered .
