Not factoring in the money, saved from people getting off of food stamps, and becoming productive members of society, what is the cheapest way to provide nutrients to poor people?

Setting up stores seems expensive, the money spent having employees, store fronts, or even government. Made foods could just be given straight to the consumer, and I imagine that is what has happened, but it is not productive in getting people off of food stamps.

The cheapest foods are the most unhealthy. Maybe just staples from Walmart, and certain whole foods not highly processed Cheetos?

1. North LA citizens barred from voting in statewide elections

2. Corporate lobbyists banned from all contact with legislators

3. Governor can never have held elected office before

I’ve been saying this forever. It should be a government store with all the staples and generic food. You would cut down on fraud and could keep an accurate account of what the money is being spent on.
wellfare should be a sack of beans and rice you can pick up every two weeks. Would end the generational wellfare stuff real quick

No SNAP benefits at the grocery store.

I get the frustration but SNAP is 0.005% of the federal budget. And that very small percentage floats most rural grocers.

To answer the question:
Decrease the size of State government so that income tax is eliminated.
Create a corporate tax structure that gives companies a guarantee on what their taxes cost, instead of just telling them they’ll rubber stamp their property tax exemptions.
Get rid of the Saints and Pelicans. They only benefit New Orleans and the rest of the State has to foot the bill.

Snap/EBT benefits just like the program for pregnant women. It's a set list of items that a family can live off of but does include fresh chicken and pork since they are cheaper than steaks. Must include milk, eggs, etc, beans, cereal, rice, fruits and veggies. No snickers, no crawfish, no ice cream...

No lawyer billboards, and no special numbers (444-4444)... You have to have a local area code and number like normal businesses. No commercials as well.

State is not required to take the cheapest contract. They can choose, within budgets, the best "bang for their buck"... So no forced Aramark for LSU, no construction crew that will take 7 years when someone can do it in 4, etc. but full transparency in offers.. must be public information.

All of the replies in this thread calling for SNAP to be eliminated etc don't seem to realize that's a federally funded program, the state just handles (half I believe) of the administration of it.

And they should count their blessings they haven't required it, if they did even if they don't any longer I doubt they'd hold the same view. The government wastes an assload of money each year but feeding people who can't afford it (and even then SNAP certainly doesn't cover a month of food for anyone) isn't one of those things

Equal custody rights for men instead of the mother getting automatic domiciliary custody just because she is a woman.

1) Enhanced penalties governing illegal protests, particularly when it comes to blocking public roadways and damaging property. Mandatory community service along a public roadway with identifying shirts/signage minimum penalty. If arrested protester is from out of state mandatory jail time and doubled fines.
2) Permit the sale and use of recreational marijuana with appropriate penalties for impaired driving.
3) Review traffic laws to reduce emphasis on “speed traps” and instead focus more on dangerous driving. Local, parish and state police agencies all scrutinized to reduce the current “cash grabs”.

This is probably a combination of state and federal programs but all the free monthly checks going out for “disability”, “crazy checks”, kids with ADHD, etc definitely needs to be sharply reduced. These are taxpayer funded programs that are grossly abused.

yep! It’s actually a chip card now since the usda and each state has dieticians on the payroll - they can come up with what healthy food is needed for each family

My grandma got food stamps in the 1980s, she made everything from scratch and told her caseworker that it was too much of course stuff was cheaper then, but there are too many agencies that provide food

You spelled south of I-10/I-12 wrong.

Term limits, own property to vote, special stores for EBT.
