You've identified. We need someone willing to run on the platform of exposing everything done corrupt in the past. He might get shot but have his team work on the problems as he exposes the crooks.

In a fantasy world it could be done with a snap of a finger like a Marvel movie. However, we’re in the real world and it will never happen in Louisiana or the country for that matter. Too many people don’t give a shite, that’s the problem.

Didn’t read the thread but know comparatively that LA is poor. Thats it bottom line. Unless it shits oil at a high rate with no expenses and breads royalty and intellects like rabbits, then blah blah.

As of 2022 only 49% of Louisiana high schoolers could read on grade level, and only 27% scored at or above proficient in math for their grade level. That’s fricking embarrassing.

So unless your point is that you have to be a literal idiot to vote Republican, you literally proved my point about why our state is so unfixable.

No. The people here are generationally stupid and it's trending downwards. You're only recourse is to take your family and get the frick out of here.

And honestly - if that hasn't been somewhere in your longterm plan, you may be part of the problem.

Do you dislike living there or do you feel it is going downhill?

I live in PA so I have no idea.

A bit simplistic. It’s better roads, better public schools, cheaper real estate, less crime, better city and state government and better opportunities for employment and higher income. My home state is a great place to visit (and I visit it often) but I wouldn’t want to live there again.

Until politicians realize that policies to help the poor cause more damage then help, no.

Louisiana is intent on fostering its poor, not pushing its upper boundaries.

Well, everything you just talked about does make money.

The issue is not the making money part it’s where the money goes

I heard Jordan Peterson talking about resource rich areas. He insists it always ends up bad for them. They get taken over and stripped of resources by foreign entities everytime. Sobering.

A state trooper decided not to write me a ticket this morning doing 87 in a 70 because when he got to the truck I was eating last night's seafood platter for breakfast.

We're doing a few things right.
