Talk about poor optics.
The Attorney General who replaced the new governor is nothing more then doing exactly what the governor tells her to do.

It can be repaired.

Dissolve all government in the state, including parish and cities.

Replace it with a private company to run it as a receivership.

Appoint a judge to oversee and monitor the improvement. When the economic situation reaches a level such as Alabama or North Carolina then allow elections of only approved candidates, no crooks, pirates, criminals, or otherwise corrupted scalawags can run. Ensure only those with adequate intelligence and fidelity are able to run.

Overseer judge still monitors for the next 12 years and if it starts to go off the rails dissolve the government again.

Also make all education in the state have entry exams. If the child cannot read /basic math by the end of the 1st grade then they are out. School should be a center for education, not a daycare.

Voters only vote party lines.

Citizens want everything for free (thanks Huey P)

No one has the balls to do what's right for the state.

Nope. We stuck.

Can it be fixed? Sure it can, will it no. Because of the people who are born and live here, at least the majority. Don't start with the demographics ( blacks ) argument. This state was screwed and headed down the path it is on long before black people voting had a impact on elections. This goes back to dumb uneducated hicks and cajuns supporting Huey Long because of the government promises he made. They continued to elect these thieves like Edwin Edwards and then re-elected them again and again because he is one of us. I still remember ppl saying yeah Edwards is a crook but he is going to steal and tell you he is going to steal, then they would go vote for him. How freaking stupid were these people. That mentality is ingrained into the culture and it is a damn shame because if Louisiana could change this mentality the state would be the most prosperous in the nation based upon its size and population.

Absolutely, but it will not be easy.

There are three top areas that need to be addressed first

Job opportunity
Education Sytem
Crime

Fourth is infrastructure.

But as long as Louisiana politics remains Louisiana politics nothing will get fixed. As long as the only way to get something done in this state is if companies contract an elected official's brother in law's company that has to be overpaid for their services so that they can right a check to their elected official brother law because he wants to be paid for getting them the job. Then if the brother in law's company is a complete shite show and does a piss poor job, they will then have to hire who they wanted to in the first place to do the job right.

As long as elected officials #1 priority is to take care of those who donated the most money and do what's in their best interest first.

And we need better qualified people in office which will require the voters to vote for the candidate who will do the better job and not the one that's the most entertaining...

The whole sportsman’s paradise thing is completely over blown. The white tail hunting is vastly mismanaged. The quality of trophy bucks just isn’t there like it is in other states. This is from decades and decades of people with the “if it’s brown it’s down” mentality.

Freshwater fishing is 100% mismanaged. No size limit on largemouth bass, daily bag limit ten. Then wonder why there's no fish anymore.

Given it would require a behavior change for over half of the population? No.

Unfortunately I don’t think so. Too much of the population is a drain on the rest of the population. The producers will continue to leave until there are only takers left.

You can blame politicians but it’s the people of this state that are very low class character wise. If we had DeSantis or Giuliani in the 90s it wouldn’t make a difference. Just like the best college football coaches always recruit the best players because it’s all about talent. We don’t have talented people like other states. I don’t think we are smart enough to change.
