Variations in Human Intelligence vs Animal Intelligence

There are a few very smart humans and many many very dumb humans...do you think there is as significant levels of variation in the animal kingdom?
Not comparing primates to lizards...but do you think there are a few very smart zebras and then a bunch of average zebras and some dumb arse zebras?
I would assume there is a pretty tight average intelligence in the animal kingdom without wild fluctuations like humans.

Absolutely, look at dog competition for example, not every border collie can do that; look at the way different pods of killer whales hunt; There is a reason a prized buck is so hard to harvest, they are big old and smart.

IDK. I guess i would just assume that being 'in the wild" and constantly under threat of being eaten would quickly weed out the dumb and reinforce the average. Humans live in too much leisure and dumb are allowed to procreate.

As a general rule and on a relative scale, you can't really characterize wild animals as intelligent. They don't really know why they do what they do. They're driven by instinct and they all (within a given species) have the same instincts.
The determining factor in their individual survival is physical health and instinct, not intelligence. The strong survive, not the smart. None of them are smart.

I had a step ladder laying on my back deck. One dog ran around it and into the backyard. The other stopped and stared at it trying to figure out what to do.

Definitely intelligence. They move at different times, the way they feed, chase a doe, they behave very differently than younger bucks.
