Well, it is election season and a gooooooooooooberment body will tell you anything.

Maybe there will be another TONGA VOLCANIC eruption event at the exact same time. The sun fires and the earth fires back!!

When I was young, I could have 4 separete coronal mass ejections every weekend...... Now, not so much.

Well, we'll get a quick answer to whether or not our Climate-related Government Institutions can be trusted, or whether they are now in the drama-queen, Muh Russia category like the Security/Intel/Justice Bureaucracy.

The one thing I can say that I have learned in my 74 years of trying to understand the workings and principles of Humanity is that subjective, self-delusional reality, motivated by various and well-intentioned feelings, is the greatest impediment to our survival and prosperity. Ironically, such motivation is also the impetus for the great progress in addressing the basic needs and spiritual hopes ('Heaven', in its infinitely various, subjective "many mansions" forms) of our human family.

If indeed we exist in a Spiritual Universe, then minus help from 'Above', I think the above 'flaw', coupled with the pernicious influence of Evil, dooms Humanity to failure, via the Fermi Paradox principle.

Will be interesting to see how all this plays out. Lord have mercy on them who love.

Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) are large expulsions of plasma and magnetic field from the Sun’s corona. They can eject billions of tons of coronal material and carry an embedded magnetic field (frozen in flux) that is stronger than the background solar wind interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) strength. CMEs travel outward from the Sun at speeds ranging from slower than 250 kilometers per second (km/s) to as fast as near 3000 km/s. The fastest Earth-directed CMEs can reach our planet in as little as 15-18 hours. Slower CMEs can take several days to arrive. They expand in size as they propagate away from the Sun and larger CMEs can reach a size comprising nearly a quarter of the space between Earth and the Sun by the time it reaches our planet.

Coronal ejections have been found to be discriminatory.

They need to establish that this is a thing, so when they flip the switch and try and turn off parts of the internet, they can blame it on the solar activity.

Metal framed houses with metal roofs may offer some electronic protection from a CMEs.

Climate change cycles is the norm; the environmental damage via burgeoning populations and civilizational by products as well. I think the latter is far more of an existential problem that the former.

Transnational Progressive Ideology envisions a fix for the latter: Depopulation and switching the Civilization from "production and consumption" to the DEI ("you will own nothing and be happy") version. Such will require a 'Global Government' capable of massive manipulation and coercion. They dream big.

'The road to hell is paved with good intentions'...the road to heaven as well.

Sure. Protection will vary because metal framed houses with metal roofs are not directly designed to protect against CMEs but they can offer some protection for your electronics.

That's why you are protected from lightening in your car. It's not the rubber tires. It's the metal frame around you that protects you from lightening.
