If we get Garland or Murray, we're still miles away from being on the level of these teams.
We should use the Mavs as an example. They bought low on a malcontent star who was a headache- who’s basically turned around his career in Dallas. Hmm who’s that sound like- oh wait theres this malcontent star in Atlanta who is a headache that can be bought low on named Trae Young.
At the end you trade for the star and the most gettable star for this pels team is likely Trae Young.

The only realistic way for the Pels to challenge for a chip is if Zion turns out to be our Ant Edwards, our Luka, our Jokic or SVA or Giannis. We got our turn at the plate. We got the number one overall pick in the draft in a year where a generational talent was available. That has to cash in for us to contend. Everything else is window dressing, which is important, but if Z doesn't reach that level, Pels don't contend...

This is what I’m been saying since day one. Hes the only real answer of a possible upgrade from BI that can take this team to the next level.
And we buying low on him. Griff has to be an idiot to not make the move. But he’s passed on many trades I thought he should have made over the years. It’s a no brainer.

The difference is Crazy Kyrie has top-10 potential.
Trae has top-25 potential
