Saw people kicking around the Jazz/Pels trade of:

Jazz get:

Isn't Collins good for both regular rotation and redundancy though? Sexton is not the lead guard at the top of my list, but he is on the list and this trade seems to fill a lot of the other holes pretty well. And yeah, you don't want a Sexton/CJ back court.

Sexton would clearly be a bench scorer playing big minutes.

Like I said I'm trying to get Suggs and Isaac from the Magic for CJ. Suggs would start with Sexton on the bench as a microwave scorer (or vice versa). Getting younger and more dynamic, and you've got some seriously versatile players. With 10 I am getting a guard or wing

Lauri
Clarkson
Kessler
Sexton
Collins
#10

In that order. Collins is the only one that doesn't make sense. Yes it gives us great depth/ scheming but does not fill any voids + is a hefty price while not doing so.

It would only make sense to take Collina if we add both Kessler/ Sexton.

Otherwise i'd rather a combo of Clarkson/ Kessler or Lauri/ Sexton

Here's how I would order it
quote:

Lauri
Kessler
Sexton
Collins
#10

Not Clarkson, even if he were free

Inefficient checkers who don't really have any other skills that they are really good at are always losing players.

We were talking about this the other day with the likes of Clarkson/Cam THomas/Oubre/Kuzma...think of any dude who fits that mold, go to BRef and check his career On/Off numbers...it's almost guaranteed to be negative, and for their careers, their respective teams are better when they are off the court. Clarkson is firmly in that tier.

I'd have zero interest at all, but in general, would view him as a negative asset and I'd need some other asset coming with him and giving back junk to even consider it...but not for this team, he would just be a hard no.

Collins is in it for salary purposes.

Lauri is probably unattainable for us, for what Ainge would want. I'd love Lauri, but I think Ainge would trade rape anyone that was able to pry him away.

Why would they do that?

Yeah theres no reason to. People need to understand they see Suggs as a part of their core. Suggs to them is like Herb to us. Hes their culture setter. They’re not trading him.

I think we have (2) markets right now:

Immediate impact trades:

Cavs (Mitchell/ Allen/ Garland)
Hawks (Murray/ Trae/ OO)
Jazz (Clarkson/ Lauri/ Kessler/ Sexton)

And then your "long term plan/ short term rebuild"

Magic
Heat
Pistons
Blazers
Houston
Spurs
Wizards
Hornets

I personally can see good trade packages between Houston/ Portland/ Charlotte but that doesn't mean they will do it.

The other market is the big ???

GSW
Boston
Min
Philly

I just don't see that working out without a major trade happening KAT/ Brown/ Embiid/. And I'm not sure if that's the move unless you are getting Edwards/ Maxey pending on how much you are giving up.

Clarkson would be dependent on coaching/ scheme which we don't have... So I agree it wouldn't be the best fit. Can't trust our FO to make that work. I like Sexton/ Kessler but not sure if it really does alot for us.

We need players who are strong with their roles and don't need to be coached into them. So yes I agree Clarkson wouldn't be an immediate positive.

He was efficient and his FG% went up. He is a good ascending player that is already a VERY good defender. Great size, tough player I like him.

That’s wonderful.
We can’t lose a #2 in BI with all of our assets and get back some generic role player as the main get back

Yeah, we cannot afford to be sellers. That would be a huge step back.

Pels get: Kessler Sexton Collins #10 Jazz get: BI Nance

Expand on this and add more teams, let them keep Sexton and include 2 future 1sts since Utah can make a lopsided trade with their cap space

Utah: BI, Nance

Pistons: CJ, Capella

Pels: Young, Collins, Stewart, Kessler

Hawks: #5 from Detroit, 10 from Utah, 21 from Pels, two future Jazz 1sts, 2025 Pels 1st

Utah gets BI and keeps Sexton if they want, otherwise Sexton could go to Hawks also

Pels solidify their big man rotation, their starting PG and get a quality backup to Zion while staying 20 million below the tax with the ability to use full MLE and BAE. Entire core of team would be 26 or younger and competitive for a LONG time

Pistons forgo their pick to add veteran leadership they desperately need

Hawks get a shitload of picks to rebuild, can flip Murray to Spurs for their own back. Could also convert some of them to further out picks if they prefer. They also create 60+ million in TPE’s to take kn bad contracts for even more picks

ETA: complete the offseason by signing Tyus Jones with full MLE, Doug Mcdermott with the BAE, bring back Zeller and Ryan at a minimum

Trae/Tyus/Jose
Herb/Hawk/Ryan
Trey/Dyson/McDermott
Zion/Collins/EJ
Kessler/Stewart/Zeller

That would be a team thats 14 deep with players that can play, the exception currently being EJ

The Pistons are going to give up the #5 pick for CJ?

The combination of a weak draft and them needing vets is what drives them to do it. Along with getting Capella. I forget who it was but a former GM said in this particular draft pick 4-5 is valued like a pick in the late lottery-mid teens in normal drafts, which is about where I would place CJ’s value.

They’re not getting and good FA’s there with their cap space, so better to make a trade and get them.

Also, looking at the tweets from that NBATradeReport that tweeted about the Wizards being interested in BI, that account tweets a lot of "rumors" that no one else has ever reported on, so seems like we shouldn't put any stock into it, other than just discussing options for fun.

The Wizards GM came from OKC, and both he and the owner are committed to a full OKC style rebuild. If they trade #2, it's going to be for more picks. The only interest they would have in Ingram would be to take him cheap and flip him for more assets later.

Every other rumor I seen on Washington is they were looking to add a third 1st round pick, so I definitely don’t see them entertaining trading 2

Yeah I don't see a team like the Wiz trading #2...unless they could get 2 picks in a much better draft in 2025 included. We have 3 potential picks in that draft...

Considering that that roster looks like, I flip some of my expiring for some bad deals if I get good enough picks out of it because they aren’t likely to get takers on Jordan Poole or Kyle Kuzma anytime soon.

Poole getting $30m a season is fricking insane.

Noh’s trade proposal would see the Warriors send Chris Paul, Moses Moody and two future first-round picks to New Orleans in exchange for Ingram. Losing Moody would hurt, but overall, the package is logical and fair.

Ingram will enter the final year of his contract next season. If the front office is parting with Moody and draft assets, they would likely want a guarantee that Ingram is willing to re-sign with the franchise before finalizing such a trade.
