It’s really not easy being last. You can’t just mess up, you gotta REALLLLLY mess up. That’s how bad Louisiana is.

Think of how many more natural resources and cultural sites we have compared to Mississippi. We are living in a State that has experienced 40 years of the best and brightest people leaving the State for Texas and other prosperous states.

I love the people of Louisiana or at least those in my life. My life is just fine. I do not need to move to liberal northeast overpriced paradise.

Aren’t the states with the most growth in the Southeast US?

Move to Delaware and then tell me why you hate Louisiana so much.

The interesting thing about that is if you took the average SELA baw and dropped him in 80+% of Delaware he would feel right at home. More shrimp, crab and Old Bay but fewer crawfish. He would realize the cane fields he was coming up on were corn when he got close enough. He would also have a plethora of large chem plants to work in and bitch about the operators having a "meeting" in the trailer but instead of gumbo they are steaming crabs.

Nebraska

Maybe outside of Omaha.

That is a filthy, poorly laid out city with a rampant homeless problem. Plus most of its residents have catholic guilt mixed with liberal sensibilities, which makes for a very interesting self-hating demographic. It’s also cold as frick and the food is truly terrible.

Was in Omaha in 2021, nice, clean, safe city with a lot to do (for a city its size). That was three years ago, so it many have changed.

Lincoln is better than Omaha.

South Dakota is better than Nebraska though. No state income tax here

Who makes these lists? My money goes so much farther in Mississippi than it does in any other state.

During covid, I was allowed to live my life pretty much as I wanted. So there's freedom here too unlike most states listed above us.

I mean I'm glad for the bad ranking as it keeps outsiders out but I just don't understand why the South gets shite on in these lists when it is the best region to live in.

The only state on that “top 10” list I’d even consider is Florida
