1- Rolfe isn’t necessarily “woke”. Remember, Rolfe was a HUGE Bobby Jindal guy. I think he even was on his team and used the BR Business Report as a mouthpiece for Jindal’s administration and campaign. Camp Jindal and Camp Vitter (whom Landry was part of most times) HATED each other. So Rolfe isn’t going to promote Landry unless he does something overwhelmingly awesome.

2- Above said…Landry’s Administration is trying to push through bills giving the Governor’s office MORE power and control. That’s the last thing Louisiana needs, more centralized power on the 4th Floor. Those of you saying that Landry “needs more control so he can clean house”, you still going to be good with that if another JBE is elected after Landry’s tenure?

and installing the worst kind of cronies and grifters all across the executive branch and statewide boards. And punishing perceived enemies who didn’t kiss the ring (sound familiar?)

I predict that the Landry administration will go down as the most ineffective and backwards looking in many many decades. He is doubling down on the very institutional calcification that got us here in the first place. Louisiana is in a bad spot, all the way around. Demographics, income, industry diversification, land loss, education, tech advancement, brain drain, etc etc etc. it can be saved but it will take real leadership and extreme measures of change in the way things are done and with who does them. I am not optimistic for the young people of this state

our citizens keep getting dumber and fatter and more lawless every day. But hey, pigs to the slaughter and all that

I was warming up to him (supported another GOP candidate) until this power grab stuff. He's acting like a liberal but I guess he's trying to appease his base.

Kind of expected this when a Catholic with a Cajun family name from Acadiana was elected. Saying this as someone with a sort of similar background….a lot of us seem to want a king and not a governor.

IMO that same demographic that helps make this state so badass and awesome culturally but contributes greatly towards its decline politically. It’s one big and obvious way that south Louisiana differs so much from the rest of the south.
