Why would this be upsetting to anyone?

Imagine my lily white self having a press conference and saying I’m happy I get to play for a white coach being a white man.

Cool. So let’s apply this to Garrett Nussmeier in regards to coach Kelly, shall we? How do you think goes over?

“My first conversation with him, I knew I wanted to be his quarterback. Just being able to have somebody that understands me as a White man, that looks like me. Who knows what I’ve been through, and understands me from that perspective.”

Why does this upset anyone? She never said anything negative about Coach Mulkey. As a white woman, I know there are things black women deal with/experience that I will never be able to empathize with. When my daughter was in her recruiting process, she preferred to go to a school where she could play for a female coach. Nothing at all against the great male coaches she had, just a female understands her better. And I imagine a black female could relate to Angel the best. She never shown anything but love to Coach Mulkey. Just my thoughts...take it for what its worth, lol.

LMAO

But, of course, that goes without saying

Kinda like when white people go to the store and don't have to pay for anything

They're really only needed come tax time

Why is this a thing? No one should care what their coach looks like. This is discrimination based on a trait that makes no difference in anything.

This is racist and exactly what leftists claim to be fighting against all the time. I guess it’s still ok when minorities are racist.

And that’s how you lose your collegiate fans. Nicely done!

Where can I go to get this kind of treatment?
I’ve never gotten this in my life.

Well, you're obviously not privileged enough and/or shopping at the wrong stores

Might want to consider investing in a 23 and Me

This seems to happen too often. These stars make shaded statements, but act like there is no meaning to it. You don't have to say certain words for it to sound like something else that you don't want to say. I can live with it, but you should be careful to what you say because there will be another understanding to what you are saying. It can come back to bite you. I live in Chicago so I understand the thinking of some people up here. Just be careful of your words.

Nauseating

Imagine CC coming out and saying the same about a white HC.

Drama will follow her wherever she goes because that’s what she lives for.

She knows how to stay in the spotlight…never for her play though.

Good post player and teammate.

Loud mouth, victim playing, crybaby also

I live here in Chicago and I can say with the Chicago Sky it hasn't mattered what color the coach is, they haven't been very good. We had the old LSU coach for a while and she didn't do much either. Whatever you say it basically is never the coach ,it's the horses you put into play.

Agree with your comments 918. Of course she will say something good about her WNBA coach Spoon, she is a rookie. I have never heard Angel say anything negative about Kim, in fact the opposite. Her mother Angel #2 has been saying good things about Kim too. Angel said both coaches were at LA Tech, and she likes that connection, both are HOF legends. Angel has always credited Kim and LSU for bringing out the best in her. I don't see anything wrong with what she said. Come on people, she did not throw Kim under the bus. She has said she loves Kim and will always support her till the day she dies. She refuses to say anything negative about Kim. Angel committed to LSU because of Kim, we would not have won the NC without those 2 together.

But if a white player said that the whole of media would for the white players head on a platter. It’s a straight racist comment.

Good for her. Glad she’s happy elsewhere.
