The crazy thing is this should have been expected to happen considering COVID rental rules. You let people not pay rent or utilities for two years? Did the government honestly expect certain individuals to willingly start paying when the payment suspension was ended? And expect them to pay back rent?

The government is run by some truly stupid and sheltered people.

It’s racist to not embrace new section 8 housing in your own neighborhood

Shreveport currently has its first Republican Mayor since somewhere around 2000.

As usual, you have no clue about this. And, as usual you have no facts to add to the conversation.

All 3 properties are owned by the same dude out of NYC.

Jolie is owned by a different company (WKK Shreveport, LLC out of New Jersey) but the other 2 are owned by the same conglomerate on Madison Ave. in NYC- AMAR Shreveport Holdings, LLC. They own 2 more complexes in The Cooper Rd. and the Hollywood areas.

The current section 8 programs, like EBT, should be done away with and revert back to the shitty cinder block quadruplex apartments with window units and clothelines. You want the govt. - aka other peoples taxes - to pay for your housing? You don't deserve a nice apartment with a big screen TV. frick all the "income based" housing and section 8 vouchers that turn otherwise decent places into third-world ghettos.

I'm not sure when they changed hands, but they went down fast.

Post Investments bought them around 2010. They decided to go Section 8 with them in 2016 because the owner wanted the tax break. It’s been nothing but downhill ever since.

Yacov Smouha is the owner.

We have a similar dude we are dealing with in Jackson. Mike Kohan. out of NYC also. Just google him. City had enough, then he ticked off the judge for ignoring his demotion order. He tore down the property but the judge had to first issue a bench warrant on him for contempt of court to get him to do it.

I side with the city here.

Landlords can pay the bills or they can have the property declared blighted and destroyed.

If the city isn’t helping with the squatters, that is a different matter.

Sounds like they're finally done with the bullshite. Looks like they've been trying to serve this guy for a while They should be able to seize the property after a certain amount of days if the slumlord can't be located/served.

True, lots of $hit to clean up. As with every city that has had [D] involved. Just look at the cluster with this White House administration, failure from the top down.
