YOUR emotional language aside, what good does it do to protest a group because they haven't stuck to a conservative philosophy as tightly as you (and I) have wanted by pivoting to a group that has abandoned the conservative philosophy altogether?

If I drop my cell phone and the screen cracks a little, that's definitely a bummer. I'm obviously not happy about that. But what you populists are doing is the equivalent of dropping it, then stomping on it and then kicking it.

The majority of this board now favors the trade policies of Bernie Sanders and the foreign policies of Jimmy Carter. That would never have happened had the base not abandoned conservatism in favor of populism.

It's all about feeling like you're sticking it to The Man for you guys, speaking of emotionalism. The Republicans didn't do everything you wanted, so you're going to punish them by supporting people who also won't do what you used to want, but you're now going to pretend to want or convince yourself you really want some of the things they do just to be able to sell yourself on having abandoned your principles. To punish the "GOPe."

And the worst part is that you guys don't even realize that's what you're doing.
