I think it's a pretty decent ad.
The unfortunate part is that iPads are basically useless outside of consumption.

I tried when they first came out, but the attachable keyboards were dogshit. Switched to a laptop about three weeks of use. iPad then became for games Youtube, and porn.

In what manner? I was soured by the first generation and haven't gotten another one. Guess it makes sense that they improved upon that, at least.

Oh no. I was talking about with the pencil. Especially if you have a MacBook and the iPad. Have the notes up on both so you can take notes quickly on the computer or draw/sketch/handwrite stuff as needed on the iPad and it updates in real time on both.

I use mine for work every single day. Indispensable for aviation as well. I would venture a guess that I might have more screen time on mine than 99% of the world.

What do you mean by this? As a musician I’ve used iPads for a ton of stuff, particularly as a control surface (for either front-of-house or monitors) in a live sound environment. But also as a MIDI input device, and in a pinch as a recording interface.
Professionally, I’m seeing more and more devices ditch expensive built-in touch screens in favor of using third-party tablets (iPad or otherwise) for user interface.

I admittedly have no idea about tech use in music. Seems like a pretty good tool for you.

Taking everything that people like from a creative perspective and saying "we will crush it and absorb it" does not look appealing at all to me.
It's the exact opposite of their 1984 ad.
