If we are talking about being "fiscally conservative" if would be Eisenhower.

We are not. And I'll let the people of his time define him for for
quote:

When asked if Eisenhower was more of a liberal or a conservative, 54% of self-described liberals said he was a liberal, while 71% of self-described conservatives saw him as a conservative.

quote:

For a period of time, the Republican Party seemed to be following the same course as right-of-center parties in other industrialized democracies today. Dwight Eisenhower accepted the contours and legitimacy of the New Deal while fighting many of the particulars. The conservative movement’s purpose was to oppose and reverse Eisenhower’s political vision for the Republican Party.

Conservative Republicans arose to undo what Ike had done over 8 years. Thats how Nixon got the 1960 nomination
Ike helped in a BIG way to shut down Joe McCarthy. And look at where that has us today. I will also let him tell you in his own words
quote:

So that here we have, really, the compound, the overall philosophy of Lincoln: in all those things which deal with people, be liberal, be human. In all those things which deal with the people's money or their economy, or their form of government, be conservative

His Supreme Court justices gave us forced busing for schools, students rights to violate school policies in order to protest, allowed for burning of the flag, removed prayer in schools, allowed criminals to go free if they werent told of their rights on the spot, took over redistricting maps

Almost nothing conservative about his overall tenure

You mean you are not.

Being fiscally conservative is a big deal. Something that Trump failed at.
