Since when did baseball players start doing cheers and chants and singing in the Dugout after every pitch??

I coached my son and his friends in rec baseball from the age of 5 to 12. This was from around 2006 to about 2012 or so. Never heard any cheers or chants from the dugout. And if I had I’d have told them to knock it off and stop acting like a bunch of girls.

I wish there was rec ball here for 14-15 year olds who just want to play and have fun.

Germantown, TN has a rec league for 13-14 and for 15-18. Pretty cool to see kids that age still playing just to have fun. There are actually some decent players who go to schools like CBHS, Houston, Collierville with so many kids it's impossible for all of the good players to make the team.

Referencing a mention from a friend (and I hated to ask), but wtf is up with rec softball (age 10-12) and Tic Toc videos?

I have two kids playing rec ball…it’s not super common but maybe one team per season does that shite. Too softbally for my liking.

All I know is that when I was that age.. singing songs and chants in the dougout was unheard of. Pretty fricking gay

One of my most favorite memories was we were 10 and we played this team from Whitehaven in south Memphis at the new ballpark at Snowden grove in Southaven right when it first opened . (none of the kids in the team were white) and they were rapping DMX in the dugout and it was a nice introduction to the culture

You don't think a rec league coach would tell his players to quit singing? Wtf? Are you afraid of confrontation?
