And he is still hitting. 170 ....30 points below .200 in SEC play.
and Jake Brown is hitting .125 in SEC play. Ethan Frey is hitting .208 in SEC play and is not healthy enough to throw right now. Mac Bingham is hitting .227 in SEC play, the worst defensive outfielder on the roster, and is 3 for his last 27 in SEC play.
No one is trying to tell you Kling has been a good hitter. They're telling you that we have no better options to replace him. That you can't grasp this and continue to repeat his .170 batting average as if that's the only part of the equation that is relevant is simply amazing. Are you really unable to comprehend anything beyond Kling's SEC batting average? Are you unable to comprehend that if Kling sits then someone else has to play in his place and that the player who plays also has to play outfield?
Not many guys on our roster have hit well in SEC play, only one who plays outfield. That's the hand we have been dealt this year. Jay's option isn't playing a bad hitter over a good hitter. It's deciding between players who have all hit poorly. Kling, by far, is the best defensive outfielder on the roster. That is why he has the most starts. Every time he has given other players an opportunity to replace him, they have not performed at the plate either.
I feel like I'm arguing with a 7 year old

This is all beyond his intellectual capacity.

I guess Jay is a 7 year old too because he sat your beloved Klinger for all 3 games against A&M and only put him in as a defensive replacement in all 3 games just as I have suggested. So obviously when playing the #1 team in the country he felt he had better options at the plate as well.
