Anyone here been and have some tips and insights? Run to the merch area first thing before things start selling out?

We have tickets for one day and are looking forward to going (bucket list item) but since we only have a day I want to make sure we do it right!

TIA.

Went in 08. It’s pretty straightforward. Get there early and meander around. Merch area is pretty small so getting in there early wouldn’t hurt. I have some shirts, towels, and an umbrella that are still going strong. Obviously everything is expensive. Bring rain protection.

Very memorable experience. I love going through all the pictures from time to time

I took the train from the Hyde Park area out to Wimbledon several years ago. It was a month or so before the tournament though. The train station is in the town of Wimbledon but you still have a pretty good walk to the tennis facility. The shop at Wimbledon is small. I would check to see if there is official merchandise available in the town before I tried getting into that shop. There is probably official merchandise all over London.

Toured it in spring on my only trip to England. Wimbledon is a beautiful village which makes the walk from the rail worth it. Grounds are much smaller than I anticipated. Impeccably maintained. Court 1 has amazing sight lines because it’s totally round.

Definitely check out a women’s match before watching a men’s match. The difference is palpable.

Total bucket list for me. I couldn’t believe I was actually there.

I wish to go for the tournament once like that. I agree with you about the town being beautiful. The walk is great too. I have been a couple of times since then and considered staying out there both times.

This is definitely a bucket list item. Got extremely lucky that my wife was able to find two center court tickets for the one day we will be there.

First, I will say you and your wife will will find Wimbledon spectacular!

My wife and I went to Wimbledon in July of 2019 for the quarterfinals and had tickets to centre court. Got to see Fed play and Djokovic play (separate matches). It was incredible tennis! Sightlines in Centre Court are incredible as well.

As others have said, getting there is super easy from London (assuming you are staying there). The best stop is actually the Southfields station (not the actual Wimbledon station). The walk to the grounds is probably about a 20 minute walk from the station but you get to walk through the town of Wimbledon which has many pubs and is great to check out before or after matches.

The Tennis grounds are absolutely spectacular! I have been fortunate to attend 3 of out 4 grand slams (no Aussie Open yet) + some other 1000 point tournaments and Wimbledon takes the cake hands down imo. One thing my wife and I loved was going to courts 3, 4 or 5 and watching those matches as well. You can get insanely good seats and watch some incredible tennis. Also, right outside court 1 is a huge outdoor screen and giant wall to watch other matches. Great way to spend an afternoon once the main matches are done.

Lastly, you have to get a Pimm's Cup (Their signature drink)! Pricey, yet delicious. Jealous y'all will be there as Wimbledon is one of the best sporting events I have ever been too! enjoy

How did you get tickets? Isn't it either win the ticket lottery or wait in the lines there?

Typically, but my wife was able to get connected with someone who has something called “Debenture Tickets” through her work.

Apparently these tickets, unlike typical ones, can be transferred.
