Sorry, I was specifically speaking about records that I really like (should have been more clear)... I guess someone could make that argument for RR, but it wouldn't be me..

The sound on “Goat” by The Jesus Lizard shits all over every record Rick Rubin ever made. I’ve never listened to an album where the band sounds like they’re literally playing right in front of you - like the speakers don’t even exist.

Another Albini thing, the dude worked for any artist who wanted to hire him regardless of genre or popularity (or lack thereof) and charged a flat rate his whole career. He never took royalties. The guy took shite from nobody and always had the balls to expose the music industry for the bullshite racket that it always was. fricking legend, RIP.
