This is probably the household income you need to hit to buy a median level house in the state. Rip to the 160k guy

Seeing these numbers I don’t understand why the millennials and older gen Z are complaining so much.

What exactly does comfortably mean?

I have a feeling those numbers a highly inflated with a bunch of bullshite expenses.

Those must be the poverty levels in each state. I can't imagine trying to get by on that.

If it takes $190k to live comfortably in Louisiana, it takes way more than that (not 277k) to live comfortably in California.

You have to factor in how Louisiana always is looking for a way to scam you out of some of your money (speed traps, traffic cams, DMV fines and fees, high as hell court costs).

Define comfort? I make well over $400k/year yet….

Have never spent more than $15,000 on a vehicle

Paid cash for a humble house

Mow my own grass, do home projects, repairs myself

Change my own oil, fixes myself

Clean my own house

Exercise regularly and eat healthy = no prescription medication or doctor visits

Only eat out on special occasions as a treat/reward.

My bills, including groceries total less than $1000/month.

Not sure why you need to make that much to live in Texas unless you’re just an entitled, spoiled, piece of trash. The younger generation needs a big lesson in a ‘do it yourself’ mentality.
