The city is so dysfunctional and corrupt. The S&WB is a real joke too. The tax money that has been wasted on that city is mind numbing. You are probably a racist for not paying your fair share of the tickets. I used to just call it the Mardi Gras tax but it’s the same everyday. When I go I park my car in a private spot, Uber everywhere and try and get out of town without injury to myself or wallet.
Maybe with a little luck the governor can make some changes down there. It’s terrible waste of what could be a great city. It may be too late.

I’m proud to say I’m in that number, I have three I refuse to pay.
Why pay Teedy when Teedy flies the world twice a month for vacations on the tax payers dime.

This is bs, I have several that start off at $8 and then multiple to low hundreds and they still go to collections. I just ignore them or dispute them in writing and they go away.

Why don’t they just attach the ticket to the license plate then the registered owner? When time comes to renew drivers license tell them they must pay the tickets first?

I've gotten a mother fricking shite load of these tickets over the years and paid the first 2-3 but when I realized it's just a stupid bull shite money grabbing scheme by the city, I stopped paying them. Can't arrest and go after the legit criminals in the city, yet think they're gonna make me pay ticket after ticket going 5 mph over the speed limit? frick those clowns they won't be getting any more of my money.
Glad that there's many others besides me not feeding into this shite and paying. shite hole city trying to get an easy buck.

Here is an unpopular idea, but one way to ensure at some payment.
Attach a lien on the vehicle on the unpaid debts.
That way if the car is sold. The lien must be paid before the car is sold or traded in for a new plate to be issued.
Really this should only be available as a remedy for unpaid tolls. Automated Red light and speed tickets can EABBD.

I live in old Metairie and only drive to New Orleans to drop kids off at school. Anytime I go down there for anything else there is an Uber involved.
