Anything in particular I should be on the lookout for to ensure they are doing the job right? Pretty reputable company here in Georgia, but just want to make sure.

Do you know the reason why the driveway failed in the first place?

That's a pretty bad fail. For it to crack and be depressed like that looks like some type water issue undermining the slab.

That needs to be looked at carefully, and addressed before the pour is my take.

We are pretty sure that there is rotting construction debris under there, and when a heavy tree trimming truck ran over it, the weight collapsed that section. He's definitely going to look at it carefully after they get the old concrete up.

That is why most drivers of heavy trucks won't cross the sidewalk since they risk damaging walkways or driveways.

What's this costing you out of curiosity? I have to get a similar job done soon.

Once removed, tell us what's under it. Sometimes a tree stump that wasn't removed.

What ever you do don’t let the concrete truck get on your driveway. If you do you will be fixing another section of your driveway

Spend the extra 40$ and throw a piece of 2"pipe 18" deep in there. Never know when you'll want to run electrical or water thru there.

Crap like this makes me just want to have a gravel driveway the rest of my life. Cement is up there with carpet for me.

Nothing was there. He said it was a soft spot. He packed it in with some small debris of the broken concrete and then he drilled in 1/2” rebar for support on both sides, along with fiber mesh.

That is correct. I think it was around 15' X 20'.

So one of the workers connected to the outlet that was on my deck to use their saw. He tracked concrete from his shoes onto the deck. No big deal I thought, I would just hose it off the next day. Nope, That didn’t work. Pressure washed it yesterday. Nope, that didn’t work. Should I call the concrete dude and ask him to get it cleaned?

If not, I guess I’ll try TSP or something similar with a brush? I just stained the deck in March.

What’s irritating is they could have easily used the outlet on my front porch, which is brick and concrete.

Try something acidic to clean it. Full strength vinegar, or a stronger acid diluted.
