About as candid as I've heard from Mr. Back of the Baseball Card

quote:

I'd give our guys a C-. We're not playing up to our potential right now." - Astros GM Dana Brown on with us right now on

quote:

"We're not have quality ABs and we aren't making pitches when they're needed. You have to have a quality AB when guys are in scoring position. Until we do that, it's gonna be tough to turn it around." -Astros GM Dana Brown

quote:

We have to turn a corner. We'll see how good we are and I think we'll get on a roll but we HAVE to have quality at-bats and make quality pitches."

quote:

We have to start to clutch up to get back to .500" - Astros GM Dana Brown

quote:

That's a Joe Espada question but I think Joe has the flexibility to move Bregman down. I would have never guessed that Alex would be hitting below .200. He grinds his tail off, he's working but he's coming up short."Dana Brown on Bregman struggling

quote:

More on Bregman's struggles from Astros GM Dana Brown with us on

@SportsTalk790

: "Maybe it's a good idea to move him down in the lineup. I like shaking up the lineup. We could possibly see that soon."

Even the boss is saying the RISP hitting is shite and Bregman needs to be dropped.

The time to change it is right now. 3 more weeks of this and it's fire sale time.

Remember the 2019 nationals started 19-31

I wish I had Dana Brown for a teacher in school because he’s an easy grader. What would he give this team if they were 0-35 right now? D+?

On the Astros... Again, the date I keep going back to is June 6. From that date forward, including 2023 regular season, postseason, and start of 2024, they're 72-76 (.486). That's a sub-79 win pace from a sample of 148 games! Almost a full season.

Let’s see if Spaghetti can string two solid outings in a row.

I legit forgot to look and see how we did last night. I still don't know the score. That's how bad they are.

Seeing Bregman hit like shite makes me almost miss Moldy. Almost. Even though Moldy can at least hit a home run or two from time to time.

I'm not shocked by this. They barely made the playoffs last year. Advancing to the ALCS covered up a lot of issues and our front office thought they could be complacent in the off-season. It has backfired tremendously

This is the most telling stat. Time to sell. Just keep everyone healthy.

Blow it up. I've said it before but think about how many prospects we could get for Tucker, Bregman, Abreu, Pressley, Pena, Chas, Jake, Yordan, JV (would waive no trade to go to a contender), Framber, Hader (if we can), Javier, Diaz, LMJ, France, Garcia, Urquidy. I know some of them would fetch very little, but many would fetch a good bit. Yes, blow it all up......we could rebuild the farm and be contenders again in about 4 years.

Instead, we'll hold on to them til they walk in FA or just become old and useless.
