I rewatched this a month or two ago. I hadn't seen it in forever. I still thought it was pretty good.

Ebert said it great. You should have more alien abduction in your alien abduction movie.

That's a ridiculous take IMO. The movie is about Travis Walton's story. He was only abducted once, and that whole scene (and subsequent scenes/flashbacks) are incredibly well done.

It's pretty fascinating to see/hear him talk about it. I don't really believe it to be real, but whatever actually happened to him, he certainly seems to believe it was real. Same with people like Bob Lazar. Maybe they are con men, but they come across as completely credible to me despite me not fully buying into that stuff being real.

But it’s not really showing the Walton story from what I can tell. All the stuff in the movie is add on from what he said which is he woke up and he was being operated on by aliens and humans anf passed out in a hospital like place. Pretty boring compared to what we saw in the movie

Want to make the movie more interesting. Throw in all the stuff about the Walton/Mike gang being known pranksters. Throwin the beat by beat replication of the dateline made for tv movie. Really play into the “are they just doing this to scam over the forestry service?”

Make it dramatic
