I was lucky all clear. Don't have to come back for 10 years.

I have two friends that are 48 and both have not had one. They say they don't want to know. I told them the hardest part of the whole thing is picking up the phone and scheduling one

I’ve had 3 colonoscopies.

During prep, the First time I wipe, Vaseline.

Seems to make everything smoother.

Not sure who asked but avoid lettuce several days before, don’t ask, just trust me. At least more than 3 days. Almost had to postpone mine because of it this

Probably should avoid all leafy plants: cabbage, kale, lettuce. Limit most veggies and be sure to cook the hell out of them. Don’t want the fiber in your system.

Increase protein intake and simple carbs, simple “breads” to offset the veggies.

As long as you keep your appointments as scheduled, no cancellations for 6 months, etc., you should be OK.

I know it sucks going through this process but be thankful. They wanted to do a colonoscopy three years ago but my cardiologist wouldn't sign off on it. So I had to do a barium enema. Imagine being on a x-ray table for over an hour and full of liquid having to constantly turning over.

I told them I will never do that again. Skip two years and I was showing symptoms. Heart Dr gave me shite again and I told him either sign off on the colonoscopy or I would just take the chance with colon cancer. He reluctantly signed off. The doing all the clearing stuff sucked but the colonoscopy is such a better option. And they found four pylops but they were benign. But I am at high risk so have to do them more frequently. Hope everything turned out ok for you.
