Gotcha, makes sense to break it up into 24 hour blocks rather than calendar days

If I'm traveling internationally there's no way I'm doing this to save $10. I admire your attention to detail.

You might if you have kids with phones/watches. We were in Italy for 15 days last summer and made our oldest son put his apple watch in airplane mode away from the houses we stayed in. It may not seem like much per day, my wife and I were already going to tack on an additional $300 to the monthly bill for those 15 days, we wanted to avoid that becoming $450. The trip was already expensive enough.
