To make things even more complicated, I had SageSure a few years ago and I guess the policy was underwritten with FedNat insurance. Halfway through the year I get an email saying "hey FedNat went under so you don't have coverage for hurricane season but we can give you a SageSure policy for 2x what you were paying before." Insurance in this state is a joke. Luckily I had car insurance through Allstate and they were able to move things around to get me covered last minute for no big increase.
