You can stand on your morals with this if you want. But when the other schools you're competing for a title with are doing it, you better have a plan in place for how you're gonna close that talent gap to keep up.
And it looks like we didn't account for that at all.

None of the DTs we whiffed on are even in the realm of what most would consider to “close the gap” with the big boy 5 star DTs that Bama, UGA, OSU regularly recruit… no one in their right mind was going to pay them the money they wanted except pathetically desperate programs like OU and Miami. Texas, who has the most money to throw around in all of CFB didn’t even want to match what OU was paying. If a Glenn Dorsey like player jumps in the portal, maybe you consider it… but that was not the case

FSU just lost their entire team and had to recruit an entire team again in the portal. You think that's sustainable?
OU will be lucky to go 8-4 this year paying a kid 1.5 mill to play DT.
Ole Miss is shooting their shot for one year, if they don't make the playoffs, they've just wasted millions. All those kids are gone after this year, and their recruiting is poo. Have fun remaking a roster in the portal again.
Miami "could" do something this year, but I'm personally not seeing an elite program going forward.
LSU's 2026 DL could legitimately be
DE Reliford 3rd year
DT McKinley 3rd year
DT Stewart 1st year
DE Jackson 3rd year

Once again BK's point seems be going straight over your head. Again, he's saying don't come to LSU if you want only money. If you want to be developed, go to the next stage of your life in NFL, possibly gain a championship, play in one of the best environments, AND GET PAID then LSU is the place for you. It's that simple. He couldn't make it anymore clear.
