re: 6' or 8' privacy fence for backyard?

Half of mine is 7 feet and man that's tall. But it's on the same elevation as the rest of my property. If you do go taller than 6, be sure to get stronger posts than regular treated 4x4. Schedule 40 or 4x6 / 6x6 deep in the ground. 7 and 8 foot fence is a big arse sail in hurricane force winds.

That being said, Ida leaned half of it almost completely over and snapped the other half like twigs. We are replacing with 6 ft.
