He needs to be able to slide in for the nomination for 2028.

Don’t need someone else muddying the waters come primary season 2027-2028.

DeSantis is better off where he is being the Governor of Florida. It might help with the suburban wife vote, but the only other major advantage is if you assume Trump dies in office. That’s the only upside for him doing this.

No. Let him progressive-proof Florida for two more years, and then gear up in 2026 as the first hat in the ring.

He won't be and he shouldn't be.

Not worth the minor hassle of the same state thing, and Trump likely needs someone much more moderate and from a swing state on his ticket.

He's already captured most conservatives despite not being remotely conservative, getting Desantis to campaign for him captures more of the rest.

He needs to grab swing state elites and suburban white women in larger numbers, and keep stealing more Latino votes.

As long as he keeps doing the job he's doing in FL right now, he slides into the '28 nomination by default without the hassle that follows him if he were to become VP.

I like Ron and I hope he's a serious contender in '28, but I don't believe he should hinge his aspirations on being VP to secure the nom. He's likely got a better shot staying right where he's at and finishing the job he promised to finish.

It needs to be someone who can pull one of the swing states. I like Desantis a lot, but don't know that he moves the needle in that department.

Once again you can’t or rather don’t want a president and running mate from the same state. Because of the electorate issues being that they can only make their pick if only one of them is not from the same state. So in a close race the loss of the electorate votes, in this case Florida, could actually cause a loss

This VP pick is critically important because whomever is selected will be a president in waiting of sorts.

So, the pick needs to be viewed as who will be the 2028 candidate. That rules out the Tulsi’s, etc.

The pick also needs to bring in new voters. Trumps biggest weakness is educated suburban voters. These voters likely come back to R once Trump is out of focus.

DeSantis, Youngkin, and the like are the best bets for this reason.

I agree with this. It would be the most profound and beneficial 1-2 punch the country has ever seen. I just hope both these 2 guys can swallow their pride and do what's best for the country. We need them...

The same Desantis that is backed by the Bush republican group, aka the swamp republicans?

God, y'all preach about someone different but then keep propping up the same swamp groups.
