The Weber kettle is an icon for a reason. Easy to use, cheap and makes great food.

Absolutely.
If you are not going to do a brisket, then anything else is easily done on a Weber Kettle. Brisket would be a giant PITA, but otherwise, if you like flexibility and aren't a fan of gas, the Kettle is the answer.
I have a small PitBoss, but never use it for anything other than smoking butts, briskets, and larger quantities of ribs/chicken 1/4s.
If I am just cooking for me and the wife, I prefer the Kettle for smoking or grilling.

I'm considering a Weber Kettle also. Do steaks, chickens, burgers, sausage and ribs taste better on it than on a good pellet grill? I'm also considering the new Weber Searwood Pellet Grill, but it costs several times more. It seems like a heavy solid grill, easy to use and clean, will sear meats, and with WiFi and probes, etc. But if the food won't taste quite as good on it, then it's a no brainer to go with the Weber Kettle. I'm switching from a natural gas grill. Before that I had a cast aluminum charcoal grill. Charcoal was definitely better taste wise compared to gas. I've never had a pellet grill yet, so I am trying to decide if I should try one. My gut feeling is to get the Weber Kettle as I know I can cook great food on one.
