BC is a vastly over priced course/club for what it is

I'm a member at BC and the courses aren't much better than a muni.

Sure there are some picturesque holes, but most fairways are hard pan. Nothing like making a nice drive and then hitting off hardass dirt.

I pay $309 for a country club with 2 courses and it came with only a $1,””” buy in.

If that’s overpriced I can’t imagine what you would expect it to cost Is it the best quality? Not even close. But that price is ridiculously low compared to standard country club pricing

People’s expectations here on what golf should cost is wild

That significantly changes when you hit 40

With the newest increase my monthly rate is $563 without touching a club

Fair enough. For me, it’s insanely undervalued. I never would have joined a club. But for its price it’s crazy not too

It’s wild reading this thread as I sit here in Baton Rouge with my options of BRCC or CCL at $40k and $30k initiation and $800+/month. Or UClub with $7000 initiation but no weekend tee times before 2pm.

Yep

Calling BC overpriced is crazy. Without looking, I would think it’s in the 99% tile for full service country clubs in terms of cheapness

Only places cheaper would be semi-private or not full country clubs

I agree totally on the cost factor being comparable. I belong to Cypress Lakes and they offer a "Golf Only" membership option. It is a full country club but if you just want golf with a cart plan it's ~$265 a month (~$190 without) and I believe a $500 buy in. The ability to pay for just the one thing I want to do there is an awesome option considering how expensive I see country clubs can be. It is semi-private (golf) but that really doesn't bother me much.

I think this is a little hyperbolic. I think it's a little more fair to say that most holes have hard pan off the fairway and especially under trees. On Oak, 7 and 10 stand out but most of the fairways, tee to green are in good shape.

I totally agree though that from a solely from a golf perspective, the only way it beats traveling a bit to play regional courses like Carter, The Oaks, The Bridges, Diamondhead, The Preserve, Grand Bear, etc is if you play alot, walk alot and mainly from proximity.

I've already played 54 rounds this year and alot of those have been 9 holes rounds so for me, it's really the only option that allows me to do that with logistical ease.

Plus, they've got some good gen-x guys there with a nice sprinkle of some boomers and millennials to keep things interesting. The MGA tournaments are fun. The Wednesday twilight league in starting in July is awesome. The food at Morgans and Oak Grill is really good and very very well priced. The happy hour is a great deal. The social events (bingo, JUly 4 fireworks, etc) are nice add-ons. We play pickleball on Monday evenings. To me, the real "value" of BCCC kicks in when the memebrship is more than JUST about golf.

BUT, for the most part, if you hit the fairway you're not hitting off hardpan.

Looks good out there. Would have liked to ride the course, but there was an MGA going on and didn’t want to be in the way.
