Laxman Narasimhan, who became Starbucks’ CEO last spring, has been working a half-day shift in Starbucks stores once a month.

Seems like Laxman Narasimhan has the in-store customer experience figured out. After all, he spends a total of fours hours a month in the actual stores.

Their business model is trash. GMs are expected to do the job of 3 managers. It's wild

That’s retail in general. Managers in those settings have crazy expectations on them.

Sell something other than that burnt arse Italian swill. Also, keep your stores and employees out of the political fray

The answer is simple but in order to get on the boards of massive companies, you have to I.V. The koolaid so much to where you don’t think normally anymore.

Go back to basics and just focus on coffee. Step away from all the knee jerk BS and stop pandering to dipshites and just sell coffee.

You can go to one of the small Baton Rouge coffee shops like Reve and City Roots and get coffee a million times better. I'm not joking it's night and day better coffee than Starbucks.

Don't doubt it. Hell Racetrack coffee is better.

I really don't go to Starbucks anymore, but when I have in the last few years, the workers all seem disgruntled and unhappy… Which always had me second-guessing being in there

A few years ago, my wife took me to Zoe's Kitchen in Georgia. Place was a weird vibe. Definitely a leftest joint. Everyone there looked granola and the menu sucked with wheat germ entries.

Everyone there looked dirty and when I walked in, it was like they wanted me to leave. They were all pissed and offended that I was there.

Same deal. Such unhappy people

Can you stop with this?

A Venti (largest size) black coffee from the Starbucks in Grand Central in NYC is $3.95.

A Grande latte is $5.95.

It may be too expensive in your opinion, but there's no need to exaggerate.

I have never tasted a Starbucks product.

Community Cafe Blend made in the cheapest Mr Coffee maker straight out of the pot is the best.

Dutch Bros is comparably priced to Starbucks and they're expanding all over the place. The difference is Dutch Bros has good coffee and cheerful employees.

I am by no means a coffee connoisseur, my favorite coffee s Dunkin Donuts coffee. I get it black with 2 Splendas. I have tried various coffees and keep coming back to DD. Starbucks tastes burnt to me although if I had to choose to sit in a DD or Starbucks, I’d choose Starbucks.

There is a bagel shop that I went to in Tucson called Bruegger’s Bagels. They have the absolute best coffe I’ve ever had but have no clue what coffee it is, not sure if it’s custom to them or a private label.

At some points in his post, Schultz seemed to be questioning Narasimhan’s turnaround plans. In a conference call with investors last week, Narasimhan mentioned several new products he thinks will drive customers to stores later this year, including boba drinks, sugar-free options and the brand’s first energy beverage.

Schultz has a valid point. Boba sucks and you can get energy drinks cheaper at a gas station.

You can't become an activist company because you think more highly of yourself and then when sales drop you want to reconnect with the people. That ship has sailed. You started it and now live with the consequences.

Starbucks is arguably the original woke company, they have been for years.

Their recent struggles have nothing to do with being woke.

I basically only go if we have gift cards or im on the road and it’s the quickest option. The cost is out of control

Exactly the same for me. I don't dislike it, but I'm not dealing with the lines and the price.

Every one I see seems packed, so I am surprised they are not doing well. That said, you're going to be oversaturated when you have one every mile. And that doesn't take into account competition from Dunkin, Tim Horton's, McDonald's, local shops, and gas stations.
