I don't know that I'd advise someone to do it, but I've done it myself. First "real" job was doing inside sales for a medical staffing company in Austin. Absolutely hated everything about it, but was good at it. Won President's Club and they put us in the Ritz-Carlton in the Grand Cayman's for 4 days, all-expenses paid.

Got back from that trip and resigned. I would've left sooner had I not won the award and gotten that awesome trip. I did have at least a 1st interview lined up with another company when I quit but no guarantees beyond that. Kinda dumb looking back but happy with where I am now so I guess it all worked out.
