They aren't kicking a Mosaic member due to overbooking.
It may have happened the way he said (there are some pretentious-assed flight attendants who enjoy "putting passengers in their place"), it could be the way the FA described it (passengers have been known to embellish) or it could be somewhere in-between.

Not an excuse. Jews get preferential treatment in airline seat allocations. Pretty sure it's in the Bible.
