The new "constitution" has been ready since Landry was Grandstander whore Gen......excuse me, I meant Attorney General. God only knows what that weasel and his cronies have put in it.

Many posters here were happy when Republicans took control of the state basically introducing the potential for one party rule. The next step is to create a new constitution that would heavily favor one party rule. Assume that passes. Now you really have one party rule with a constitution to back it up. Many would celebrate that. The Democrats have no power and no way to object. The Republican Governor would be very powerful as would successor Governors.
But what happens if the new leadership that you were happy to see get into office and then adopts policies that you disagree with? Nothing, you are screwed.
Just remember the phrase, Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely.
