David Duke’s daughter. Just kidding she’s 100% correct.

How sick has society become when good schools and a safe neighborhood equals racism.

A tad racial for me, but I guess that's what happens when we piss on Martin Luther King Jr.'s message enough.

A large part of our society is sick and I thinks it’s ultimately terminal. I’m not sure how we recover if this thinks like this are dismissed by the ignorant public at large and viciously fought against.

It’s not only white vs black. Sure that’s a bulk of it but who’s to say there aren’t normal middle to upper class black families part of the St George community?

It’s about people wanting a normal functioning community with good schools and good public services. Willing to bet there’s plenty of Hispanics, Arabic, Asians and blacks mixed in there wanting St George to work out.

The lack of nice suburbs is one of Baton Rouge’s biggest flaws. Look at Jackson for example. The city proper is garbage but the suburbs are as nice as any in the south. Why can’t Baton Rouge have this also?

For sure. She had good points but had moments where she sounded too racist as if that’s the only problem. Pretty sure white trash people in LP cause tons of problems just like ghetto blacks in BR. It’s about socioeconomic classes. Not color.

This is absolutely about getting away from blacks

As a resident of St. George and neighbor to 5 black families, tell me exactly how that works? Will I be forced to move? Will they be forced to move? Will a wall be built? Will any restrictions be put in place based on skin color? Who exactly is "getting away from blacks"?

and lastly, you're an idiot.

"Don't want to be part of the city anymore"

I don't understand why people cannot understand that they were NOT NOR EVER part of the city. Why can't this concept be understood?

Was Broome their mayor? No, she was their parish president.
Did they have a mayor? No, they weren't a city.
Did the city provide services? No, the parish did.
Were they inside the city boudnaries? No, they were not.
Were they part of the city of Baton Rouge? No, they were part of the parish.
Are there multiple cities in the parish? Yes.
Are there more unincorporated areas in the parish? Yes.
Could BR have incorporated them if they wanted? Yes.

EBR has some nice suburban subdivisions, and many are middle class.

Then say that because we have nice subdivisions with crappy public schools.

No, that's just a convenient by-product for those who also want to get away from crime.

This all started because the EBR school system sucks balls. People in the St George area tried to work with the school board but were basically told to frick off. They then tried to make their own school district and were again told "no" and that they would need to incorporate as a city to have a shot at that.

So that's what they did and the opponents are screaming "muh racism" because otherwise is to admit their own failures.
