With baseball going on, I saw an article on the new stuff coming to Alex Box.

Definitely worth the read and insightful.

Bianco missed extended time during the 2022 season after hurting his shoulder.

He said that during his four years at LSU, other minor injuries occurred along the bullpen areas.

“Even all of my teammates at LSU would talk about how ridiculous it was to have the bullpens there,” he said.

The new seats will serve as premium seating for Tiger Athletic Foundation members, adding to the Champions Club seating behind home plate. There will be tables for three to four people and the view will not impede any other person watching the game’s view.

The real reason. It is definitely time to do this though. Wish they would expand (& Cover) the diamond deck but doesn’t seem like that’s in the cards.

Just wanted to make a comment on this
quote:

Franques said Anthony Rendon, a Rice third baseman, injured his knee down the left field line in 2009. Rendon missed the rest of that season and then extended time into the next season.
The "rest of that season" for Rice was 6 innings

Rendon's injury also had nothing, at all, to do with the bullpens. His teammate stepped on his ankle/collided with him. It just happened to be in the bullpen area. If that area was all flat surface, the same thing would have happened.

Opened article and did a CTRL+F search for “chairbacks” and “seatbacks.” Zero results.

Any proposed renovations are worthless without those

Outfield bleachers need to be uniform from rf to lf. It looks like a diy project .

Are we already considering this stadium "historic"?

A new era: Why LSU is making changes to the historic Alex Box Stadium

Headline is misleading. The original Alex Box was "historic." The new one not so much.

Glad this is happening, but three million dollars and nine months of work to move bullpens seems a bit excessive. I guess they have to take down and re-construct the diamond deck.

They said they are going to do the visitor bullpen like softball. I don't see how that is possible unless they are saying there are just walling it in where it currently sits.

Stadium needs about $50m in renovations and yes, I donate.

Every facilities upgrade is always lacking, the Box had no imagination nor did design have any forethought for room for upgrades in its future.

I feel like Alex Box was outdated as soon as it was completed.

How about they stick a $200 window unit in the bathrooms so they don’t smell like a Tijuana holding cell

The intimidator is way too small. It needs to almost as wide as the bleachers there.
