Tony's "Churchill Downs" joke about Jeff Ross was insanely good, and like 3 people got it

that was my favorite joke during the first hour and a half (I fell asleep about halfway through and need to watch the second half tonight)

The three worst were Will Ferrell, Ben Affleck, and Bert/Tom

I have it on in the background right now. A few thoughts.

Almost every single thing Kevin Hart said missed on me. He rambled a ton and it felt like the show didn't flow at all every time he was supposed to transition from guest to guest. The last thing I need to see is Kevin Hart literally grading every single setafter they are done. Nobody cares, and it's dead air watching him laugh in real time and say a hundred times that somebody had a good performance.

Glaser did well. She's actually pretty funny, and not just in the South park "talk about your vagina a lot" way.

Drew Bledsoe was surprisingly entertaining.

Belichick continues to be a really funny guy and you can tell he's just a personable dude. Which is hilarious considering his professional demeanor all the time. But I agree with whoever said that his set wouldn't have been as funny if anybody else had read it.

Edelman was actually really great.

Bert Kreischer and Tom Segura were fricking AWFUL. I just don't find anything they say or do funny at all. And Bert snorting and laughing at everything they said made it worse.

I don't know who Sam Jay is but she sucked pretty bad.

The whole Ron Burgandy thing was not only funny, but went on for about 10 minutes too long.

I never thought I would actually respect and like Randy Moss, but here we are. He just seems like a down to earth dude who would be fun to chill with and go fishing.

Another roast and I still don't get why people don't universally hate Jeff Ross. I just don't think he's very funny at all. Very few of his jokes are funny or clever, but he hits every now and then. But the whole "roastmaster general" thing is so overplayed and unearned IMO. He's basically a clown attention whore who's funny for about one out of every ten jokes.

This Kill Tony dude is up next, and I've heard good things...

Interested to see how the last hour or so goes. I do agree that three+ hours of this is way too much though.

Yeah whoever Bill’s agent/publicist is deserves a raise. He has come out looking great after this and his joining Pat McAfee for the draft night.

Because he improvised "I wouldn't frick Sandra Bernhard with Bea Arthur's dick."

I thought Moss was bad, but Gronk was very entertaining. It wasn’t because of his lines, but just his delivery and facial features basically confirming he is still a 15 year old trapped in a 250 pound 35 year old’s body.

I have hated Hart’s stuff for several years now, but it all honestly, bias aside, he started the night off on fire with the AB joke. I thought he did great outside of his constant standing up interacting while others were on the mic.

I just watched the second half of it really was a great roast.

Whatever Netflix paid to steal this out from under comedy central was absolutely worth it.

Comedy Central is dead, Netflix passed them long ago when it comes to Comedy specials.

Entire roast was amazing except Ron Burgundy and Ben Affleck. Trash.

Comedy Central would have neutered it big time, plus cut half of it out to fit commercials.

Best joke of the night. Had to pause it because I was laughing so hard. He was on rapid fire destroying people. Even Kevin Hart needed time to collect himself.

Tony absolutely killed it. Best overall set of the night. And his Aw, Hell Naws joke had me literally in tears. Nikki's Gronk/bitoin joke was a close second.

There were a couple of slower sets, but overall, the roast kept me laughing for almost all 3 hours, which it didn't feel like it was that long at all.

Why does Kevin Hart have to stand up after every joke about him?

Did Kevin Hart call Tony 'Tom' on two separate occasions? Once when he was going around the room and he stopped at his table with Dana and another at the podium after Tony finished his set? I rewound the first one and chalked it up to just a mindslip, but after the second more obvious flub, it made me think that he really doesn't know who he is.

I can’t remember who called Dana White the “Michael Vick but with humans” bit but I laughed pretty hard.

Did think overall the only fault was the show going too long. Could’ve easily cut out Ron Burgandy, Afleck, and the two comedians talking about serial killers and Hitler. That would’ve made the show absolutely perfect.
