The front will eventually catch the dry line and forward speed will pick up giving it a more easterly storm motion.

Gotcha. I’m on the line of BA and Coweta…just watching out west but also see the front line being out towards the panhandle. Was curious. There was a small part of me hoping this was moving quicker than forecast

Yes, i can drive my SUV on it when closed and even park on it - thats how heavy duty it is. I love to use it to get to underside of vehicles. Just like a pit that oil change places have.

Nights like this and severe weather chances, when changing out of dress/work clothes, am I the only one that thinks ‘What do I want to be wearing if interviewed by a TV crew?’

Admittedly, storm nights I make sure to sleep in shorts. I never wanna be the guy running naked around the neighborhood checking on people.

I also advise all old people to sleep in their house coats and leave their dentures in.

Its really bad. They come from all over the world and pay big money to ride along and hope to catch one.

Yeah. I have noticed in the past 5-10 years all the tornado videos I see have tons of cars on the road chasing it around. There are gonna have to be laws passed one of these days to crack down on it. Perhaps make people apply for licenses if they want to chase.

We had an old family friend who did this in his shop that he built back in the early 80s. He was ahead of his time in that regard. He used it as a storm shelter, garage pit, and a root cellar.

This storm ahead of the main line may have some potential in a little while.

So I left work at 3pm to get some stuff for my daughter. Well it became rush hour as everyone left work that early as well. So I ended up coming upon a wreck that had happened maybe 5 minutes earlier. But it was a major road in OKC so was about 20 cars back from front (and there were 4 lanes). 3 cars had wrecked and one was on fire. Everyone got out but one was injured. Fire truck shows up and puts it out. Ambulance. Traffic was backed up for miles.

Spent 30 minutes stuck. And had I left 10 minutes earlier like I planned I’d have missed it. Store was packed like armageddon. Thats life in OK during storm season (both tornados and Snow/ice). Tomorrow night city will be hopping with Thunder game at 8:30.

Going to be some upset OKC metro folks on social media tonight. Already seeing bust posts. I’d be curious what the post mortem is from the weather community on what went different from expectations. Granted that assumes the next few hours see little change.

The storm on the tail end of the line is ramping back up, as well.

That warning at the end of the line needs to be watched.

Notice the storm motion has a slightly more easterly component to it.

Spent 30 minutes in the cellar from a circulation passing close. High wind heavy rain and hail but think the worst is past me now.

North Central OK.

was just coming to ask if it was expected to go linear as it has. I guess so...18z nailed it

It is but if you'll notice cells to the due west and SW of OKC are trying to fire and that's undisturbed atmosphere there......there will be a window between them firing and it lining out where they could get ugly

They still think it builds to SW of OKC and comes in OKC at midnight
