Why not make the game of baseball more fan pro-active?

If a fan, while in the stands catches the ball, it is an out if it is foul or a homerun if it is fair in the outfield.

So each team gets a few hundred extra outfielders? And,….why even have boundaries?

In the very least, a team could have clinics to teach fans how to catch only the visiting teams foul balls. They could be taught how to extend over the outfield walls to turn a double into a homerun.
In the very least, it speeds the game up. Hitters realize how important it is to hit the ball between the lines or clearly past the outfield wall.

No, no, no. You can only make a play on a ball that is in the stands or at the outfield walls.
