Is the $11 billion the cost of the project or just what’s been spent on that singular bridge?

Most of it has probably gone to "environmental consultants."

Pretty impressive that California managed to make something more expensive and worthless than the 1.7 million dollar toilet in San Francisco:

There was these ridiculously expensive "bus shade" poles they installed and made a big deal of as you can see from the photo-ops.

6.875 million per foot?
That's a hell of a deal.

Right??? Couple of million per foot is chump change.

Talk about graft, everyone involved in that boondoggle should be investigated for fraud.

In Texas we have something similar in the Austin area and Project Connect.
Pure theft of tax dollars.

Iirc people are trying to build one of these between Dallas and Houston. I wonder how that's going to go and if they finish it first for less how CA will handle being mocked.

I remember when my father was stationed at Norton AFB. He liked Las Vegas and we would travel east.

There was a part of the road that descended into a wide ditch, just gravel.

San Andeas fault.

Anything labeled “green” is typically a massive grift because people want to believe that they’re doing something great but it’s always a scam like BLM.

1600 feet of high-speed rail after over a decade and $11 billion yet there is no rail. It's just an overpass.
Seattle is impressed. They're spending over $130 billion on a light rail expansion.

It went to a Chinese construction firm China Railway International. Not Americans.

This isn't a HSR project, it's a jobs project. The goal is to employ people and use as much taxpayer money as they can squeeze out of it.

At this rate, they'll complete the 800 mile system in 23,000 years at a cost of $29 trillion (in today's dollars excluding inflation.)

Democrats gonna democrat, they love spending money since they’re typically not held liable for results.

Example: every program designed for “underserved” areas that money seemingly disappears into a project.
