Beg to disagree regarding your characterizations. Maybe you have anecdotal evidence to the contrary (or an detailed, indexed list from the November 11, 2009 game against NAU regarding who was in the student section and what they may have said).
I was a junior at OM when this went down. The then Chancellor, Daniel Jones ( a Mississippi native) who became Chancellor in June 2009, signaled or indicated at some point in 2009 (early fall I believe) that he was contemplating doing away with Slow Dixie because of the TSWRA chant. He issued an ultimatum to the students ahead of the November 11, 2009 game against Northern Arizona that if the students chanted TSWRA, the song would get yanked. Predictably, the students chanted TSWRA and gave Daniel Jones the pretext to do away with the song.
So what happened? A Mississippi native decided to do away with the song and no one from Mississippi did anything tangible from the first announcement in the fall of 2009 to present to right this wrong.
Rather than hold themselves accountable for letting Daniel Jones and the campus lefties destroy what made OM unique and special, Mississippians shifted blame to outsiders, here out-of-state students. The good people of Mississippi and the merchants of Oxford are more than happy to take the dollars of out of state students. And it is super convenient to blame people they denigrate as mouth-breathing, window-lickers from Texas that are too dumb to get into UT or TAMU or Georgians that can't get the Hope Scholarship.
Maybe there's a good argument that Mississippians (students or alumni) have a more vested interest in the flagship than someone spending four years before returning to the DFW Metroplex or suburban Atlanta. But if that's true, that doesn't excuse letting Daniel Jones (and Uncle Bobby Khayat and others) unilaterally make questionable decisions that are geared towards out-of-state interests (e.g., Phi Betta Kappa or the NCAA) than in-state interests. The changing of the state flag is an analogus example.
With regards to the kid whose being scape-goated for a rough week for campus progressives, why should you (or anyone ) care that he was mean to a fat communist who wasn't behaving with decency or restraint herself? I don't recall us all sitting down and agreeing on Queensbury rules for protest and counter-protest behavior (short of not committing crimes).

Read the definition. Why is someones belief, which may be formed from personal experience something to deride him over. One could make monkey noises at any race. Why should Blacks be treated as if they are exempt and above this very minor act that actually makes the noise maker look foolish? You saying Blacks are special in this regard is racist. Why do you consider them so? I could easily make the case that Blacks are the most racist race in America just for demanding we treat them as if they are special even though they are responsible for 70% of all crime. Have you been to St. Louis? Chicago? Some parts of New Orleans? Being white in some of those neighborhoods is like being ugly in a no ugly zone.

Got a legitimate link on this long history? Would he have been kicked out if the woman had been White? Or if he had yelled something unkind about her being overweight? In a free country we have the right to say whatever we please. You prefer to be property of the state?
